On the 16th and 17th September we welcomed 1800 Students to the University of Worcester, as the new academic year began. The feedback from students, parents and supporters was overwhelmingly positive, which reflects the effort and commitment from everyone involved in making the weekend a success.
The warm welcome continued throughout the week as ‘Fancy a Cuppa?’ offered tea, biscuits and a chat to students in firstpoint. Money Advice, Careers & Employability, and the Disability & Dyslexia Service were offering 1:1 appointments, providing valuable advice and support to students, whilst the Counselling & Mental Health Service delivered workshops including: Transitions: Settling into Uni, Managing Anxiety, and Procrastination & Perfectionism, as well as offering to visit every new cohort for a ‘Quick Guide to Wellbeing’ to introduce the Service!
Student Services also met lots of our new starters at the various fairs organised by the Students’ Union:
- 800 students attended the Employability Fair
- 3000 students attended the Welcome Fair
